Just the other day, Microsoft promised to modify Teams to allow the simultaneous appearance of up to nine meeting participants on screen.

Multi-window experiences to support multi-tasking

The upcoming feature will enable you to pop out conferencing sessions in Teams into separate windows. The idea is to let you multi-task, which means accomplishing more within less time.

A similar capability is coming to the Office 365-powered Phone System feature. It will allow users of the calling function in Teams to have multiple call windows at the same time.

Once the feature is available, you will be able to access it right away without having to update anything. Just sign in to Teams on your personal computer or Mac and you are good to go.

Microsoft’s already pushing multi-window chat in Teams

Last month, Microsoft started delivering the ability to pop out chat conversions into multiple windows within Teams. The update is on its way to your account if you do not have it yet. The company said it expects to have updated all users with the feature by the end of this month.

Enhancements like the upcoming update enable Microsoft Teams to pose a more serious threat to the dominance of Zoom in the area of VoIP conferencing. Overall, Teams is doing great considering that it currently has over 44 million daily users.
