The long-awaited feature comes from Evolve IP, an old Microsoft partner that also launched a voice service for Teams last year called Voice2Teams.

The new feature is also resolving a security issue for the enterprises. You no longer have employees working on their personal mobile numbers to send any information.
The short message service (SMS/MMS) / texting feature enables users to text anyone via their business phone number directly from within Microsoft Teams or via a Web browser.
Since Evolve IP’s Work Anywhere solutions, including Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, run natively on every device, employees can text from their business line regardless if they are using a personal, or company-issued, tablet, laptop/desktop or mobile device.
What are the advantages of Microsoft Teams SMS integration?
Using a secure business line inside Teams prevents any possible communication problems and you can also send data faster. And you can do that from any platform.
