The facility is scheduled to open in summer 2021.
Microsoft to create 1500 new tech jobs
The facility Microsoft is setting up in Atlanta will create about 1500 new jobs. As such, the busy commercial area of Midtown will be a major beneficiary of the project.
Cloud and AI services sectors usually demand a highly skilled labor force. Obviously, Microsoft’s new venture requires experts in fields like big data mining, data analysis, and machine learning.
Governor Kemp said that he was confident that the state would sustainably provide the prerequisite high-tech skills.
A Fortune 500 company
A Fortune 500 company injecting a whopping $75 million into the Georgian economy is something of a big deal. Besides creating jobs, Microsoft’s venture is a gesture of confidence in the business environment there.
Microsoft’s new facility will be a client-facing workplace that will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud services, including retail space for engaging directly with customers. The company will occupy the 523,000 square feet in the Atlantic Yards complex at Atlantic Station, and a variety of positions will be available across multiple skill sets.
The company is simply expanding its business empire in Atlanta considering that it has other interests in the city. It runs a Technology Square-based cloud computing operation within the Coda Building.
It also has a presence in Buckhead and the city of Alpharetta.
Apart from that, Microsoft offers Office 365 as a cloud-based solution.
