Microsoft is betting big on its Chromium-based browser and and the development team behind it is working around the clock to improve it.
Edge is getting a 3D viewer to find and eliminate bugs
The tech company has introduced a new tool in the upcoming Chromium-based Edge through its Canary and Dev builds to better identify and eliminate bugs.
More specifically, Edge is getting a 3d DOM viewer, similar to Firefox’s Tilt:
Inspired by @FirefoxDevTools‘ Tilt feature, we just released the 3D DOM viewer in Edge Dev/Canary builds ?
- Enable Developer Tools experiments in about://flags
- Ctrl+Shift+P > “Experiments” > “Enable DOM 3D view”
- Ctrl+Shift+P > “DOM 3D View”

How can I enable the new 3D DOM viewer in Edge?
If you want to try it out yourself, you’ll have to first make sure that you have the latest Dev or Canary build. Then, you’ll have to enable Developer Tools experiments in edge://flags.
After that, open the developer options by pressing Ctrl + Shift + I > click on the elipsis to go to Settings > in the sidebar go to Experiments > then click on Enable Dom 3D View.
Then, open the developer options once again, go to Settings > More tools > DOM 3D View > Take snapshot. You’ll then have a working 3D view of your webpage.
We have to mention that the feature is not final yet, and you might encounter bugs and problems along the way.
Microsoft is working hard on finalising the tool for the web developers out there. If it’s here to stay, we’ll see in the future.
