In the last couple of weeks, Microsoft initiated a huge hype and probably a little confusion about who will get Windows 10 for free when the full version comes out on July 29th. But, there was no word about prices of Windows 10 for those who can’t get Windows 10 for free and have to buy a license.
Actually the only clue we had about the price of Windows 10 was Newegg’s pricing plan for Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Professional, going by $109.99 and $149.99 respectively, but those prices are Newegg’s own prices, not official prices specified by Microsoft. But, a couple of days ago, Microsoft finally revealed its official pricing plan for Windows 10 through Get Windows 10 app.
After the latest update, Get Windows 10 app for reserving a free copy of Windows 10 from your licensed Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system shows “Enjoy Windows 10 for $119 free!*” Which is a clear indicator that Windows 10 Home edition will be priced $119 in the US.
But besides the US price, Microsoft is also sharing an international pricing plan, based on your location. So, Windows 10 will be available in the Great Britain for the price of 99 pounds, while the Spanish insiders report that the price of Windows 10 in the Eurozone will be €135.
But Microsoft said the prices may vary, depending on the country, which means that Microsoft will be more expansive in one part of the Europe, than another. The reason for that are probably the taxes Microsoft needs to pay some taxes in every single country in Europe, which is also the reason why the price is different from the US.
Just as a reminder, Windows 10 will be available on July 29th, and it will be available in many world’s languages, and people all around the world are excited to try the newest Microsoft’s operating system.
