Computex 2017 managed to inspire consumers with new Windows devices and experiences that will help the ecosystem grow and bring new categories to life.
Windows Mixed Reality Headset designs
Acer, ASUS, HP, Lenovo, and Dell partnered with Microsoft to create mixed reality headsets that will use Microsoft’s platform to enable a consistent UI and UWP app platform for developers.
- The Windows Mixed Reality dev kits from HP and Acer are now available for pre-order via the Microsoft Store in Canada and US.
- ASUS will unveil a futuristic head-mount device with a unique polygonal 3D cover panel, and the company wants to make this HMD powerful and fast for an immersive VR experience.
- Dell is working on its own headset is focused on user comfort and is designed by the same team that creates their premium XPS and Alienware PCs.
- Lenovo is also partnering with Microsoft to bring its incredible technology through its great mixed reality headset for an immersive experience.
Always Connected PCs for constant connectivity
Current users need to be connected to the cloud at all times because they need to share experience across screens and leverage the latest network technology. Microsoft is working with its ecosystem on a shared vision that starts with a close partnership at the silicon layer with Intel and Qualcomm for providing seamless connectivity.
The company announced that these always connected devices would come from ASUS, HP, and Lenovo using the Qualcomm 835 chipset and run Windows 10.
Innovative Windows 10 PCs
Microsoft’s partners, including Acer, Dell, ASUS, HP, MSI, Lenovo, Samsung, Panasonic, Huawei, and Toshiba, are all manufacturer thin laptops, ruggedized tablets, gaming PCs, and 2-in-1’s to the market and they announced their devices at Computex 2017.
