A few hours ago, we shared with you the news that Microsoft has recently released important security updates for Microsoft Office, Word and its Office web apps, as well. Now we’re talking about the improvements released for all Internet Explorer versions.
Via the most recent Microsoft Security Bulletin MS14-056, which has been rated as Critical, the company has deployed a good number of security updates for all Internet Explorer versions. Microsoft says that this security update resolves fourteen privately reported vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer. Here are some more details shared by Microsoft on this update:

Security vulnerabilities of Internet Explorer addressed by recent update
Microsoft also mentions that this security update is rated Critical for all IE versions:
The most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer. An attacker who successfully exploited these vulnerabilities could gain the same user rights as the current user. Customers whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than those who operate with administrative user rights.

- Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7)
- Internet Explorer 8 (IE 8)
- Internet Explorer 9 (IE 9)
- Internet Explorer 10 (IE 10)
- Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11)
By deploying the latest updates, these will modify the way that Internet Explorer handles objects in memory, by adding additional permission validations to Internet Explorer, and by helping to ensure that affected versions of Internet Explorer properly implement the ASLR security feature.
Internet Explorer has always been accused of not faring quite well in the security field, so it’s nice to see that Microsoft releases frequent updates to overcome problems.
