Today, Microsoft acquired Movere, a cloud-migration provider.
Movere, formerly known as Unified Logic, has been in the cloud migration space for some time, providing innovative technologies.
Microsoft’s cloud migration strategy evolves
With this acquisition, the big M aims to improve the experience of migrating applications and infrastructure to Azure through Movere’s new technologies and deep expertise, as highlighted in Microsoft’s blog:
At the same time, Movere’s CEO, Kristin Ireland, stated:
Movere’s innovative discovery and assessment capabilities will complement Azure Migrate and our integrated partner solutions, making migration an easier process for our customers. We believe that successful cloud migrations enable business transformation, and this acquisition underscores our investments to make that happen.
Before the acquisition, Movere has already been a certified Microsoft Gold Partner.
From the beginning, the team at Microsoft has been some of our staunchest advocates and have brought together many of our customers and partners. […] We passionately believe the cloud journey is what opens the door to market disrupting ideas and opportunities; to be part of that journey with customers and partners is a privilege. So, thank you to our partners and customers for allowing us to be part of that journey thus far; we are so excited to continue to be faster and better for you as part of the Microsoft Azure team.
Now, alongside Azure Migrate and Microsoft’s ecosystem of independent software vendor (ISV) partners’ solutions offer more capabilities and choices for Azure customers.
