Microsoft is planning on revealing a brand new device to the public on May 2nd in New York. There, they’ll offer more details about the product which is likely to be included in the Surface category. Microsoft sent enough media invites to cover the future event and made sure that it wouldn’t go unnoticed.
If we take into consideration the latest release of Windows 10 Creators Update and the recent news about Joe Belfior’s return to focus on education, the two events might even be connected in some way.
Windows 10 Cloud
There are some rumors regarding the announcements Microsoft is going to make in May revolving around Windows 10 Cloud. The company adores creating new hardware in order to prove the power of Windows 10, and that’s why we think the new hardware is planned to match the announcement. Microsoft 10 Cloud will focus on education and will only be able to run UWP apps.
Internal documents compare hardware plans for Windows 10 to Google Chromebooks and Microsoft has been working hard to make sure that Windows 10 will be a powerful competitor. Now, they want to prove it to the whole world.
Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, will also be expected to join the event, which means that whatever the announcement might be, they’ll turn out pretty important for Microsoft.
What not to expect
On the other hand, we shouldn’t expect any mainstream consumer products to be presented at the May event, which means we won’t get to see any Surface Pro or phones.
