Microsoft Brings Creators Update With Cortana To Raspberry Pi 3

The new Creatos Update for Windows 10 has finally arrived and brings a ton of improvements and new features. That said, many are waiting to get the update via the Update Assistant implemented not long ago in Windows 10. What many weren’t expecting was for the Raspberry Pi 3 to also be eligible for the Creators Update. This is made possible by its Windows 10 IoT Core.

With this, the board can now be used in the construction of devices that do bigger and better things. One of the main features that will be coming to the board thanks to the update is Microsoft’s digital voice assistant, Cortana. Cortana is well known by anyone that uses a Microsoft product, but the developers that work with Raspberry Pi 3 might not have had the opportunity to get acquainted with the personal assistant yet.

Cortana is able to cater to inquiries about the weather, sports, stocks, or even calendar appointments. These rather small but important tasks Cortana can take care of them can actually be a pretty big convenience for users of whatever device includes the Raspberry Pi 3.

With this addition to the Cortana family, Microsoft is continuing its campaign of gaining as much exposure for its digital assistant so that it can compete with the other voice assistant solutions on the market. And while Cortana is a popular feature on Windows 10, users seem to enjoy it on their own. Now that Raspberry Pi 3 is part of the family, Microsoft’s share of the market in terms of digital voice assistants might get bigger.
