If you’re an owner of a Microsoft Band 2, then you’ll be happy to know that Microsoft recently released a new update for the fitness device. The new update was pushed out via the Microsoft Health app, and it contains several improvements to key features.
The new update brings the software to version 2.0.4737.0. Here is the list of key improvements:
- Track your heart rate zones on Band
- Improves training with notifications for heart rate zones. When you’re at 80% of maximum heart rate, the band is orange, 90% is red.
The Band 2 was also recently updated with better support for hiking activities, so folks who love to travel through rocky terrain and up the side of a mountain should enjoy what this update has to offer.
Outside of these current updates, Microsoft is planning something even more interesting. In the future, the Band 2 should be able to unlock your Windows 10 computer. While it does sound interesting, we do not see the sense in it, but if unlocking Windows 10 from the Band 2 is smooth and painless, then we’re all for it.
We should also point out that the Band 2 is now on sale via the Microsoft Store for $175. The price won’t stay like this for long, so if you’re in need of a Band 2, make a move before Microsoft hike the price back up again.
The Microsoft Band 2 is Microsoft’s second attempt at a fitness device on your wrist. Some folks view it as a blend between a fitness band and a smartwatch due to the features and the ability to interact with smartphones on a deeper level than most fitness bands.
