Migrating from your existing operating system to another platform can be an arduous task, but a new tool from software giant Microsoft eases the pain. Although the tool seemed to have been momentarily leaked on Microsoft’s website, the link now does not work when opened. Nevertheless, the leak was long enough for details to surface.
The tool was designed to make it easier for you to transfer data from a Mac computer to a Surface Pro, Surface Book or Surface Studio so that you can easily ditch Apple’s macOS platform.
For while, the Redmond giant displayed the instructions in strict details on the support pages of the Surface device. Those instructions laid down the steps to back up and move various types of data from Mac to Surface, thus the tool’s name. The program had a smart interface that would take care of the migration task.
The Mac to Surface Assistant software had a simple design and UI to boot. It would walk you through the process of selecting files to back up and would prompt you as well to save those things to a removable drive. However, the tool did not allow users to perform file transfers wirelessly.
It remains unclear now why the support page for the tool on the Surface page has been removed. But if you had the opportunity to open the link prior to that, you would have found how the tool would significantly help you transfer files from Mac to Surface quickly.
