It seems that the Lumia 950 XL has become much faster with the Windows 10 Creators Update and the proof is a post on Reddit by a user named bazillion. According to him, the Lumia 950 XL device that he owns is now running much better and much faster with the last update installed on it. Bazilion’s exact post on Reddit says the following:

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL

Microsoft has launched the Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950 to usher in the new era of Windows 10 mobile. The Lumia 950 XL is the larger of the two phones and it packs a 5.7-inch display. The phone is packed with the latest technology and it features a pin-sharp high resolution display, a powerful octa-core processor and an amazing 20-megapixel camera.

You have seen the rant. The Creators Update brought only a new share icon to phones, some say. But it actually brought some long awaited features, like SD card encryption, Bluetooth GATT server, etc. However, what is quickly noticeable is the boost in performance as a result of the under the hood changes and bug fixes. I decided to put my 950XL to test with Antutu, and here is what I got. A score of 92464, while I have never got more than 80000 before. And no, that’s without doing a hard reset. My 950XL runs noticeably better with the latest update. The Creators Update is the best and smoothest Windows 10 Mobile to date. It’s a pity that it will most probably be the last too.

The Lumia 950 XL is a perfectly capable phone and if you’re already a Windows Phone user who isn’t too keen on switching operating systems, than this is probably the most powerful Windows phone that your money can buy at the moment.

You can get the Lumia 950 XL in UK for £530, in the US for $649 and in Australia for $1,129, all directly from Microsoft.
