Linkedin Windows 10 App Is Now Available For Desktop Pcs

Microsoft and LinkedIn recently announced the release of the new LinkedIn app for Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system.

The application will be rolled out gradually until the end of the month to Windows 10 users. Users will be able to enjoy a richer and a more engaging and connected LinkedIn experience with it.

Windows 10 users will get the same experience they usually get when they open LinkedIn in a web browser. The only new features include Action Center and Live Tile Support and support for real-time notifications as well. The app is only available for desktop PCs.

Even if the app doesn’t necessarily bring something new, there will be users who will probably like the functionality the company is adding to it.

LinkedIn supports notifications in browsers, but it’s not sure if they are in real-time or delayed. Fortunately, the app’s users will be able to customize which notifications will get to be displayed and which will not be in the Action Center.

A potential issue of the app

There is also a potential problem with this application in that it lacks dedication. If you compare it with the big contenders, the Windows Store is still pretty young and even if its situation is improved with each release, if Microsoft can’t deliver powerful apps to show the strength of the UWP then the company can’t expect those third party developers will invest in more resources.

Android and iOS both get a custom LinkedIn app and the company’s own operating system only gets a wrapper with a few added features. This can’t sound very good for Microsoft. We’ll wait some more, because who knows what the future can bring.
