If you’re running Windows 10 v1703, we’ve got an excellent piece of news for you: this month’s Patch Tuesday updates are out.

Technically speaking, it’s only one update: KB4516068. However, this patch brings along three categories of updates. The first one focuses on improving security when using Internet Explorer and input devices such as a mouse, keyboard, or stylus. 

The second category of updates improves the verification process of user names and passwords. And the third update category adds improvements to storing and managing files on Windows 10.

  • Provides protections against a new subclass of speculative execution side-channel vulnerabilities, known as Microarchitectural Data Sampling, for 32-Bit (x86) versions of Windows (CVE-2019-11091, CVE-2018-12126, CVE-2018-12127, CVE-2018-12130). These vulnerabilities particularly affect virtual machines.
  • Security updates to Microsoft Scripting Engine, Internet Explorer, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Authentication, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, the Microsoft JET Database Engine, Windows Kernel, Windows Virtualization, and Windows Server.
