Microsoft recently rolled out a new cumulative update (KB4345215) aimed at Slow Ring Insiders. More specifically, update KB4345215 makes the Windows 10 build download and install process much easier by fixing potential bugs that could prevent Insiders from getting the latest Slow Ring build releases.
Here’s Microsoft official description of this patch:
It is worth mentioning that KB4345215 also fixes the issue where Windows Defender Application Guard no longer works after installing the Build 17713.1002 Cumulative Update.
We have released Cumulative Update Build 17713.1002 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. This Cumulative Update helps us test the servicing pipeline in preparation for releasing this build to the Slow ring.
You can install update KB4345215 by going to Windows Update and hitting the ‘Check for updates‘ button. Insiders haven’t reported any issues related to the download process, so everything should go smoothly.
Microsoft is expected to release the Windows 10 Redstone 5 OS, also known as the Windows 10 October 2018 Update in the first or second week of October. So, with three more months to go, Slow Ring Insiders will start receiving new updates more frequently. The same is valid for Fast Ring Insiders. In other words, all Insiders should get ready to test lots and lots of new builds in the coming weeks.
