Windows Insiders in the Slow ring can not check out the features that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update will bring. The current build has been available for Fast ring Insiders for a week now and thanks to their feedback, Microsoft has been able to roll out a fix for Edge with this Slow ring build release.

The Edge update (KB3158988) fixes the issue that prevents users from closing Microsoft Edge or get context menus to work if all the extensions are turned off without being installed.  The update also brings a series of  fixes for some issues causing devices to bugcheck (Bluescreen).

Although Slow ring Insiders have to wait a bit longer until they get their hands on the builds, they have a greater advantage over Fast ring Insiders: all the major issues have usually been fixed by the time they install the build.

We expect other updates and fixes to land soon, maybe even at the beginning of next week, for all the other issues Insiders reported in this build. Some users could not even install the build, while others reported that Cortana crashed every time they input text or that Microsoft Edge could not open specific websites.

Today we are releasing Build 14342 to Windows Insiders in the Slow ring. With this build, Insiders in the Slow ring can check out the new features coming with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update including Windows Ink, updated Start, and more. We are also releasing an update for this build (KB3158988) that fixes the issue that occurs where you can’t close Microsoft Edge or get context menus to work if you turn off all extensions without uninstalling them.

Let us hope that Microsoft manages to solve all these issues by the time the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is released.
