Mobile users got their share of scare regarding the Instagram app in the Microsoft Store. It looks as if the latest update of the app brought an unexpected change by removing it the Microsoft Store. Instagram app for Windows 10 Mobile was no longer available for a few days, and we even made some efforts to understand this considering that Microsoft hasn’t been focusing too much on mobile lately.
Instagram app is once again available in the Store
Now, it looks like the Instagram app for Windows Phone is again available for download. However, users need to reset and clear their devices first. This comes with a small catch as well because the app’s version is v10.1096.22713.0 which is basically the same build as last year.
The Instagram team figured out that it’s possible to serve a different APPX to various PSs from the same download listing. Instagram app for Windows Phone doesn’t include the latest features of the app, but it’s not a tragedy considering that they weren’t hugely important. This would also prevent Windows Phone users from side-loading the APPX from sources that are not legit.

Warning signs regarding Windows 10 Mobile
The fact that users have reported that Instagram app was gone from the Microsoft Store and the only supported platform listed by the app was the PC triggers some warnings or at least it should. One of them is the fact that Instagram might be considering narrowing its suite of supported apps to focus on platforms with more intense activity.
Another concern is the one regarding support for Windows Phone which doesn’t seem too stable. This is a serious reason for users who are still using the platform to consider switching from it to something else before it’s too late and their favorite apps disappear for good next time.
