Most all-in-one PCs are designed with their components slapped onto their display, making units with larger screens look clunkier. For example, HP’s 34-inch curved-all-in-one Windows 10 PC that was launched more than a year ago had its 4K monitor flanked by bulky speakers. The screen also rested on two chrome feet, which added to its bulkiness. HP addresses these design issues by revamping the ENVY Curved AIO 34 and squeezing the speakers and the hardware into the PC’s base.
HP introduced the redesigned Envy AIO at CES 2017. The new design means cables are no longer dangling visibly off its back and its bezels are now thinner. HP also relocated Intel’s Kaby Lake desktop processors to the machine’s base for a sleeker design.
You also now have the option to hide the webcam inside the screen when it’s not in use to maintain a clean look. On top of the design upgrades, the all-in-one PC also packs a punch under the hood. ENVY Curved AIO 34 features a Core i5 or Core i7 quad-core Kaby Lake processor and various RAM and storage capacity options. A sample configuration is an AMD Radeon RX 460 with 4GB of GDDR5 memory.
It also includes modernized USB 3.1 ports, USB-C Thunderbolt and HDMI ports. HP ditched the old model’s USB 2.0 Type A ports in favor of the USB 3.0 ports. This demonstrates the PC maker’s commitment to upgrade the ports as well. Overall, the ENVY Curved AIO 34 now has four USB 3.0 Type A, one USB Type C, and two HDMI-in and out ports.
Finally, the 34-inch all-in-one shows off an impressive 3440×1440 IPS display that’s both crisper and brighter. The gigantic curved screen remains the same and the same speakers built by Bang & Olufsen are present in the latest design.
The new Envy AIO will be available on HP’s website beginning on January 11 at a starting price of $1730.
