More about One Punch Man
One Punch Man was created in 2009 by the Japanese manga artist ONE. One Punch Man is about the adventures of Saitama, a superhero who can defeat his enemies with one punch. Saitama joins the Hero Association, which fights to defeat evil. Throughout the series, they battle the Monster Association, who try to destroy their city, City Z.
The series was remade in 2012 by Tonari no Young Jump, or Weekly Young Jump, a Japanese website for the entertainment and manga magazine publishing company Shueisha. One Punch Man premiered in the US on Adult Swim’s Toonami program in 2016, and the second season aired in 2019. It’s also been adapted into a video game and was scheduled in 2020 to be made into a live action film.
The One Punch Man manga won the 2017 Sugoi Japan Award and has sold over 30 million copies to date. In the US, both volumes were on The New York Times best-seller list for two weeks in first and second place.
