The fifth season of Lucifer is set to premiere on August 21, likely at around 3 AM EST (12 AM PST) since this is when Netflix typically adds new episodes. There’ll be sixteen to look forward to, but these will be broken up into two eight-episode parts with separate release dates. If you’re new to Lucifer, with four previous seasons to catch up on, there’s never been a better time to start watching. Read on to find out how to watch every season of Lucifer online from abroad (outside the US).
It’s important to note that we don’t recommend watching Lucifer via third-party sources. These are frequently taken offline without warning and usually don’t offer as high-quality video as official broadcasters. Besides, it’s possible to stream Lucifer for free in several countries, so regardless of your location, there’s very little reason to use unreliable, unofficial sources.
Lucifer can only be viewed on region-locked streaming services. For this reason, you’ll need a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to continue watching while traveling abroad.
How to watch Lucifer from abroad (outside the US)
Even if you’re completely new to VPNs, it shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes to get set up.
Here’s how to watch Lucifer (all seasons) from anywhere:
- Start by choosing a suitable VPN provider. We recommend ExpressVPN although NordVPN and Surfshark are two fantastic low-cost options.
- Download the appropriate app for your device. Be sure to install apps on every device you use for streaming.
- When you’re ready, log in and choose an American VPN server. This provides you with a US IP address and tricks geo-restricted services into thinking you’re really in the US.
- Log into Netflix or create an account if you don’t already have one. Note that you’ll need a local payment method (or a Netflix gift card loaded with US dollars) to do so.
- Try playing an episode of Lucifer. In most cases, it should load without any issues. If you’re having trouble, clear your cookies and try again, use a different server, or ask your VPN’s support team for more in-depth advice.
How to watch Lucifer for free on US TV
If you’re in the US, it couldn’t be easier to stream Lucifer seasons 1–5 online. From August 21, every episode (except from the as-yet-unreleased second half of season 5) will be available on Netflix US. This service comes with a 30-day free trial, meaning you can just sign up, stream the new series of Lucifer, and cancel before your payment method is charged.
If you have a few seasons to catch up on and need a little more time, you’ll have to pay $8.99 USD per month for a standard-definition plan or $12.99 per month to watch in HD.
Outside of the US at the moment? This service changes its content based on your location, so you’ll need a VPN to stream Lucifer abroad. Luckily, ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, allowing you to try it risk-free and watch Lucifer from anywhere.
Where can I watch Lucifer outside of the US?
There are plenty of popular shows released in the US that take months, if not years, to reach fans in other countries. The good news is that Lucifer isn’t one of these; take a look below to see how you can watch wherever you are:
UK
Unlike in some other countries, Netflix doesn’t offer every season of Lucifer in the UK. But its British library currently has season 4 and will be the only place in the UK to stream season 5. Netflix UK plans begin at £5.99 per month, with HD plans costing £8.99 per month. Unfortunately, this service no longer offers a free trial period in the UK.
Canada & Australia
If you live in Canada or Australia, there’s good news and bad news. On the plus side, Netflix offers all four existing seasons of Lucifer and will broadcast the first half of season 5 from August 21 — the same date that it’s released in the US. Unfortunately, though, it’s no longer possible to get a Netflix free trial in these countries. As a result, you’ll have to pay $13.99 CAD or $13.99 AUD per month to watch Lucifer in HD, depending on which country you’re in.
Netflix is geo-restricted, but you can access its regional libraries as normal while abroad by using a VPN to get a Canadian or Australian IP address.
How to watch Lucifer without Netflix
While Netflix is the best place to stream Lucifer in most countries (and the only way to watch season 5), there are a couple of other services that carry this show.
For instance, British fans can stream the first three seasons on Prime Video. This platform offers a 30-day free trial which means that if you’re quick, you can simply sign up, watch old seasons of Lucifer, and cancel before the trial ends. Otherwise, subscriptions cost £7.99 per month.
If you’re in the US, it’s also possible to buy episodes and seasons individually via services like DirecTV, Fandango, and Vudu. Prices vary from one provider to another but generally, you can expect to pay about $2.99 USD per episode and $19.99 per season.
What do we know about Lucifer season 5?
The fourth season of Lucifer ended with the main character returning to Hell, but it seems his visit was pretty short-lived. Well, assuming it’s really him; the official Lucifer season 5 trailer introduces Lucifer’s identical twin brother, Michael, making it difficult to tell what exactly is going on in any one scene. It does end with a fight between the two, though, so it’s safe to assume that they’re not exactly on the best terms.
There’s also the question of Chloe and Lucifer’s relationship to deal with, but with a sixth season confirmed, fans can expect this particular aspect of the show to remain a fixture for the foreseeable future.
